Long live Stenographers!
Wow, what a change we have all had to endure. We’ve made the transition to remote with grace and style. I am so happy that Kusar has been there for you when we all felt so alone and unsure of what to do. We all did our best and for some it worked out; for others, unfortunately not. HOWEVER, we as an industry survived, and it’s never too late to learn a new way.
It’s been a little while since I’ve had the pleasure to write to you. We still can’t get together and laugh and toast to each other, but it will happen this year! I hope you are well and that any of you who have been affected by this virus are doing better. For those of you who have lost a loved one, a friend, a colleague, a neighbor, my deepest condolences. The fight continues to defeat COVID, and we will. Whether you believe in herd immunity or getting the vaccine, the choice is yours. I, myself, am grateful that I could be vaccinated. We are a strong group, and we shift and adjust to our circumstances. Most of you did just that when remote depositions came into play – like every day!
You should be very proud of yourselves (I know I am). I was so amazed by your courage to go head-to-head with the unknown, and you faced your fears and came out smelling like a rose.
My staff worked tirelessly to help every one of you who reached out — or we reached out to you — to assist in getting you as comfortable as we could with the new way of taking down testimony. Likewise, our client relations team reached out to all our clients with personal training on Zoom depositions. Having a witness be remote is no piece of cake; having everyone attend remotely is even that much more daunting. We have noticed a few in-person depositions taking place, but just a very few, and for the foreseeable future we believe it’s by video conference. BUT LIKE TRUE PROFESSIONALS, most of you have mastered it; those who have not, please reach out and let us help you!
February 1, 2021, Kusar Court Reporters & Legal Services celebrated 38 years in business. It was such a fun day here at Kusar: Food, Cake and Champagne! The incredible court reporters and staff that I have been Blessed to surround myself with have made this all come true. Thank you from my heart for caring about your profession as much as you do. You are amazing and talented reporters!

We have so much to be grateful for and supporting each other and the profession now and into the future, well, there could not be a more important time!
The year ahead will continue to bring us together, like one big happy family. Kusar is here for you always! Seriously, if we can help you, let us know. May the Lord continue to bless you every day!
